The Embassy of Pakistan Kathmandu organized a solemn event to reaffirm Pakistan’s unwavering support to the Kashmiri people. We urge international community to take notice of grave human rights violations in lIOJK & ensure peaceful resolution of the dispute in accordance with wishes of people & UNSC resolutions. We commemorate Kashmir Black Day- marking 77 years on Indian occupation of J & K. We stand in solidarity with the brave Kashmiri people in their struggle for self-determination.

H.E. Ambassador Abrar H Hashmi welcomed Pakistan’s youngest mountaineer, Mr. Sirbaz Khan, at Pakistan Embassy Nepal conquering all 14 peaks above 8,000m, capping his journey with Shishapangma on Oct 9 2024. He shares this triumph with Shehroze Kashif.

Ambassador Abrar H Hashmi recently held meeting with the office bearers of the Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce & Industry. The focus was on reviving the “Made in Pakistan” Fair in Kathmandu which aims to boost trade between Pakistan and Nepal. They discussed enhancing trade relations with Nepal in traditional goods and services as well as availing e-commerce.

Alumni Get Together

In continuation of the tradition to honour Nepalese citizens who have graduated from various educational institutions of Pakistan, the Embassy of Pakistan organized its Annual Alumni Get Together.
Honourable Ms. Bidya Bhattarai, Minister of Education, Science and Technology graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. In her remarks on the occasion, Minister of Education, Science and Technology recollected the depth and warmth of Nepal-Pakistan friendly relations and appreciated the support of Pakistan for Nepal’s development, especially in the field of technical education.
In his remarks, Ambassador of Pakistan to Nepal Abrar H Hashmi said that the educational scholarships by Pakistan to Nepalese students reflected the closeness of people-to-people relations between Pakistan and Nepal. He said that Nepalese students made life-long friendships while in Pakistan and carried with them positive memories all their lives.

Defence and Martyrs Day of Pakistan

Defence and Martyrs Day of Pakistan was commemorated in Kathmandu with a reception hosted in the evening of 6th September 2024. Lt Gen Ashok Raj Sigdel, Officiating Chief of Army Staff, Nepali Army graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. Senior Nepali military and civil officials, Ambassadors, retired senior Army officers including former Chiefs of Army Staff, Academia, members of the Diplomatic Corps, Defence Attachés, UN agencies, media personnel and members of Pakistani community attended the reception.

Defence and Martyrs Day of Pakistan

Lt Gen Ashok Raj Sigdel, Officiating Chief of Army Staff (COAS) in his remarks highlighted that Pakistan and Nepal enjoy multifaceted bilateral relations including economic, commercial, education, technical assistance as well as military. He also hailed assistance, especially in crisis and capacity building.
Ambassador Abrar H Hashmi, in his remarks, highlighted the significance of the day and paid rich tributes to the sacrifices of armed forces, law enforcement agencies and Pakistani citizens who laid down their lives to protect motherland, as well as to ensure peace and stability of the country.

Defence and Martyrs Day of Pakistan

Ambassador Abrar H Hashmi said that Pakistan remains steadfast in its commitment to peace and stability in the region, and has played a significant role in the global fight against terrorism and in United Nations Peacekeeping. However, Pakistan will never compromise on its sovereignty, security, and territorial integrity when faced with challenges. Pakistan will continue political and moral support of oppressed people of IIoJK, Palestine & elsewhere.

Pakistan Embassy in collaboration with Nepal-Pakistan Friendship and Cultural Association (NPFCA) organized an Independence Day Reception at Hilton, Hotel, Kathmandu.
Rt. Honourable Vice President of Nepal Dr. Ram Sahay Prasad Yadav was the Chief Guest. Special guests included Dy. Speaker of HoR Indira Ranamagar, Former Prime Minister MK Nepal, Former DPM and Chairman of JSP-Nepal Upendra Yadav, Former Dy. Prime Minister CP Mainali, Former Foreign Minister Pradeep Kumar Gyawali and Member of Parliament Ms Rekha Yadav. On the auspicious occasion of the 78th Independence Day of Pakistan, a flag hoisting ceremony was held at Chancery. Ambassador of Pakistan Abrar H Hashmi unfurled the national flag at the Chancery. Embassy officials, Pakistani community and Nepalese friends along with their families attended the colourful ceremony.

Great pleasure hosting a delegation of College of Physician and Surgeons of Pakistan (CPSP). A Regional office of CPSP functions in KTM since 2001. Led by MG Dr Mazhar Ishaq, they are here to further promote post-graduate programs for Nepalese medical graduates.

Dr. Pema Gyamtsho, DG- ICIMOD joined Ambassador H.E. Abrar H Hashmi in planting peach and plum saplings at Pakistan Embassy grounds, Kathmandu on 25 July 2024. The Embassy imported these high yield fruit saplings from Pakistan interalia to donate to Nimo Budha Municipality and Parks in Kathmandu.

On 15 July 2024, Ambassador HE Abrar Hashmi attended swearing-in ceremony of the new Government of Nepal held at Rashtrapati Bhawan (Presidency). After the ceremony, in a short interaction, the Ambassador felicitated the new Prime Minister of Nepal Rt Hon KP Sharma Oli and conveyed best wishes of the leadership and people of Pakistan.

Held very useful discussions with Governer (Central) Rastra Bank of Nepal, who received us yesterday. From ongoing coop, bilaterally & in the framework of SAARC, to new areas of enabling platforms for digital payments & e-commerce were the focus.

Ambassador H.E. Mr. Abrar H. Hashmi received young Pakistani students and professionals who were visiting Nepal to attend Seventh Everest International Model United Nations (EIMUN 24). The young delegates shown keen interest in Pakistan-Nepal relations and role of multilateral institutions.

Today, Embassy of Pakistan, Kathmandu organized award giving ceremonies of 11th Annual Ambassador of Pakistan Essay Writing Competition and 7th Annual Ambassador of Pakistan Speech Competition. Prof. Dr. Bhola Thapa, Vice Chancellor, Kathmandu University was Chief Guest. He gave awards to the students.

This year, the topic of Essay Writing competition was “Regional Connectivity is Essence of the Economic Development and Social Uplift – Prospects for South Asian Countries”. Students securing first, second and third position in the Essay Writing Competition were presented gold, silver and bronze medals along with Souvenir and cash prizes. The next twelve best students were also presented with special cash prizes.
In their speeches, both male and female students, passionately advocated on indispensable “Role of Women in Economic Development of South Asia”. Top three adjudicated students were given medals along with Souvenirs & cash prizes. The next thirteen best students also received Souvenirs & cash prizes. A good number of Nepalese students from 35 Higher Secondary School to University students participated in the two competitions. The competitions were concluded in phased manner over last two weeks in this event.
Speaking at the occasion, Prof. Dr. Bhola Thapa appreciated Pakistan for its continued support and advancing technical support especially in the field of education. He expressed hope that Pakistan’s support would go a long way in reminding the youth of the two countries about shared vision; an educated youths is beneficial for all. He lauded that a sizeable alumni of Pakistan was contributing to Nepal’s development.
Ambassador Abrar H Hashmi in his concluding remarks appreciated the students for their critical thinking on important issues. The Ambassador stated that imbibing, solution based, and forward-looking thinking process in students was vital for the future and termed youth interaction between the two countries as the abiding bridge.
The two competitions were held consecutively for last 7 and 11 years respectively which have become very popular among the Nepalese youth.

On 13 June 2024, Embassy of Pakistan organized second Alumni gathering for Nepali Army officers trained in various institutions of Pakistan Armed Forces. General (R) Gaurav SJB Rana, Former Chief of Army Staff Nepali Army, was the chief guest at the occasion. Air Chief Marshal (R) Sudarshana Pathirana, Ambassador of Sri Lanka to Nepal attended the event as a special guest being alumni of Pakistan Air Force Academy. A good number of serving and retired Nepali Army officers attended the event.
In his welcoming remarks, Col Muhammad Ali Alvi, Defence Attaché, Embassy of Pakistan traced history and highlighted the vibrant bilateral relations between the Armed Forces of Nepal and Pakistan, especially in training domain. He underscored continued support by Pakistan Armed Forces for capacity building of Nepali Army.
General (R) Gaurav SJB Rana recalled experiences of his stint in Pakistan and their relevance to his own rise in leading Nepali Army. He said that training of Nepali Army officers, soldiers and capacity building of Nepal Army has tremendous value for the institution and individuals. Maj Gen Babu Ram Shrestha, senior most serving Nepal Army officer and alumni of NDU Islamabad, speaking at the occasion, conveyed best greetings on behalf of COAS Nepal Army. He thanked Pakistan for providing opportunities to Nepal Army officers/ soldiers both in acquiring contemporary skills and filling gaps in capacity of the Army.
Ambassador Abrar H. Hashmi in his concluding remarks said that Pakistan and Nepal have strong relations based on trust and mutually beneficial collaborations between the people, governments and armed forces. He paid gratitude to former COAS Guarav Rana and senior officers for attending second inaugural alumni event.
Participants of the alumni gathering expressed their gratitude to Pakistan and its Mission in organizing the event and providing them a platform to relive fond memories of their stay in Pakistan.

Ambassador Abrar H. Hashmi had a courtesy call on PM Pushpa Kamal Dahal ``Prachanda``. The focus of the discussions was on bilateral relations between Nepal and Pakistan covering economic, social, cultural relations, bilateral mechanisms, climate change and coordination at multilateral foras.

Today, H.E Ambassador of Pakistan Abrar H Hashmi handed over an Outreach Van to Bharatpur Eye Hospital/Netra Jyoti Sangh. The initiative is a part of support of Pakistan to health sector of Nepal BEH was built in 1988 with an initial grant by BCCI Foundation. Today, the Embassy of Pakistan organized inauguration ceremony of “Pakistan-Nepal Friendship Park” at Ward No. 8, Budhanilkantha Municipality, Kathmandu. 19th Free Medical Camp (27 April)

This Mission in collaboration with Nepal-Pakistan Friendship and Cultural Association (NPFCA) organized “19th Free Medical Camp” at Shree Budha Secondary School, Tika Bharaib Godawari Lalitpur (Near PIA park).The medical camp was inaugurated by Ambassador Mr. Abrar H Hashmi,Mr Bishnu Man Chairman was special Guest. The Ambassador handed over a Projector to Chaiman ward-6 as gift for the Shree Budha Secondary School. Free checkups were conducted by the medical team comprising of specialist doctors graduated from Pakistan and provided free medicines to the patients of the locality. The Chairman and locals thanked Pakistan Embassy and NPFCA for organizing the free medical camp.

Pakistan: Geo-Historical Invitation to Tourism

on 26th April 2024 Pakistan Embassy Kathmandu hosted a conference cum interactive session under the title “Pakistan: Geo-Historical Invitation to Tourism.” Ambassador of Pakistan to Nepal H.E Abrar H Hashmi chaired it. The conference was focused at developing joint marketing and developing circuits for cultural and high-altitude tourism in Pakistan and Nepal. The participants included leading tourism experts and operators from Nepal who were joined virtually by experts in Buddhist outreach and mountaineering & trekking tourism of Pakistan. They included Mr Laxam Gautam, Head of Marketing and Promotion Department, Nepal Tourism Board, Mr Rajan Shakya, President Young Men Buddhist Association Nepal, Ms Yubika Raj Bhandari, Secretary Nepal Association of Tour and Travel Agents (NATTA) and Mr Achyut Guragain Former President NATTA along with heads of other reputable Tour and Travel Companies in Nepal, Dr Nadeem Omar Tarar, Senior Research Fellow at the Department of Anthropology, University of Texas, Austin, USA / Executive Director Center for Culture & Development (C2D), Ms Sadia Noman, Manager Publicity & Promotions Pakistan Tourism Board Corporation (PTDC), Mr Sadruddin Hunzai, Secretary General Pakistan Association of Tour Operators (PATO) along with his Head of Adventure and Mountaineering Committee and MDs of other Tour and Travel Companies of Pakistan joined virtually.

Flag Hoisting Ceremony on occasion of 23rd March 2024

On the auspicious occasion of 84th National Day of Pakistan, a Flag Hoisting Ceremony was held at the Embassy of Pakistan, Kathmandu on today. Ambassador H.E. Abrar H Hashmi hoisted the National Flag. Messages from the President, Prime Minister and Foreign Minister were read out on this occasion.

The Closing / Prize Distribution Ceremony of “9th Edition of Nepal-Pakistan Friendship T20 Cricket Tournament-2024”

The Closing / Prize Distribution Ceremony of “9th Edition of Nepal-Pakistan Friendship T20 Cricket Tournament-2024” was held today. The event commenced on 2nd March 2024 and twelve teams of various clubs participated in the Tournament. Honourable Mr. Shiva Koirala (Jwala), Vice President, National Sports Council, Nepal was the Chief Guest, who awarded the Trophy to the winning team while Mr. Abrar H Hashmi, Ambassador of Pakistan to Nepal has awarded the Trophy to runners-up team of the tournament. Special Guests included Secretary General SAARC, Ambassadors of Egypt, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Economic & Commercial Counsellor, Embassy of China and Chairman & CEO of Himalayan Bank Ltd. Journalists, civil society representatives and sports lovers also attended the ceremony. The Special Guests presented the prizes to prominent players and officials of the T20 Cricket Tournament.

Today, “9th Edition of Nepal-Pakistan Friendship T20 Cricket Tournament-2024” was jointly inaugurated by Ambassador of Pakistan to Nepal, Mr. Abrar Hussain Hashmi, Mr. Binaya Raj Pandey, former President of Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) and Mr. Ujjal Raj Bhandary, Deputy CEO of Himalayan Bank Limited.
Twelve Club Cricket Teams are participating in the nine-days event. The Tournament is scheduled to conclude on 10th March 2024.

Ambassador of Pakistan to Nepal Mr. Abrar H Hashmi joined Prime Minister of Nepal Rt. Hon. Pushpa Kamal Dahal to inaugurate four modular Operation Theatres at Bharatpur Eye Hospital in Chitwan District. Mr. Jay Ram Shrestha, Chairman, Bharatpur Eye Hospital Board of Governors welcomed the guests.
The block is named as ‘Ghulam Ishaq Khan Operation Theatres’ and it a gift from people of Pakistan to people of Nepal. Ambassador Hashmi in his remarks paid gratitude to all those who contributed in realization of this tangible and impactful project. He termed this goodwill and lasting relationship between two people and great nations of Pakistan and Nepal. Prime Minister of Nepal Rt. Hon. Pushpa Kamal Dahal, while addressing the audience, expressed gratitude to government and people of Pakistan for assistance to Nepal in healthcare sector.  He also handed over a memento of appreciation to Pakistani Ambassador.
