Colours of Pakistan Come Alive in Kathmandu Through Art and Cultural Exchange
Kathmandu witnessed a vibrant celebration of art and cultural diplomacy as the Embassy of Pakistan in Nepal hosted an art exhibition and talk titled “Colours of Pakistan through the Brush of a Nepali Artist” on 28 January.
Organized by the Embassy of Pakistan in Kathmandu, the event showcased the inspiring works of acclaimed Nepali artist Bidhata KC, whose paintings were created following her Artist Residency in Pakistan. Through her canvas, the artist vividly portrayed Pakistan’s diverse landscapes, rich cultural heritage, and artistic traditions, interpreted through a unique Nepali perspective.
During the event, Bidhata KC shared personal reflections from her journey across Pakistan, highlighting the warmth, hospitality, and deep cultural impressions she experienced. Expressing gratitude, she thanked the Government of Pakistan and the Embassy of Pakistan in Nepal for providing her with the opportunity to explore and engage with Pakistan’s art and culture.
His Excellency Mr. Abrar H. Hashmi, Ambassador of Pakistan to Nepal, praised the artist’s creative vision and emphasized the importance of cultural diplomacy in strengthening bilateral ties. He noted that initiatives like this foster meaningful people-to-people connections and celebrate the shared history, values, and friendship between Pakistan and Nepal.
The exhibition attracted a diverse audience, including art enthusiasts, media representatives, influencers, and well-wishers, reflecting strong public interest and the growing role of cultural exchange in enhancing mutual understanding between the two nations.
